We created the I.A.M™ mental health kit to help young people and their loved ones learn how to manage big feelings at school, home or on the go. It's the perfect care pack for someone going through a tough time to show you really care.

The I.A.M™ Mental Health Coping Kit

  • Young people will discover a range of healthy coping mechanisms in our toolkit and coping plan. Having healthy ways to cope with distress can increase confidence in tough situations and help them live a meaningful life.

  • The I.A.M toolkit draws on psychology’s best therapeutic interventions to mange big feelings skilfully including Sensory Modulation, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (D.B.T) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (A.C.T) .

  • Each toolkit comes with our coping plan to help personalise the I.A.M kit to each young person’s specific needs and sensory preferences. This helps them learn to manage distress in a range of situations.

  • I Am Mindful has a partnership with The Melbourne Clinic (TMC) Psychiatric Hospital in Melbourne Australia. Together we have been researching the effectiveness of our toolkit through through the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne. Every kit purchased online and through schools helps us to gift a free kit and workshop to every young person under 25 admitted to the hospital to the Young Adult Emotion Management Program (YA-EMP) and Eating Disorder Program (EDP).

Mindful Sand

  • Our sand is used as a grounding tool to teach young people how to connect to the present moment and get unstuck from sticky thoughts. We do this through our video instructions and workbook included with the I.A.M Kit.

Mindful Oils

  • Our mindful oils help young people to learn and practice a distress tolerance skill called Paced Breathing which is drawn from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (D.B.T). The breathing sequence taught through our video instructions and interactive workbook help to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce emotional pain.

On The Go Bag

  • Each I.A.M Kit includes an O.T.G Bag to take your positive, portable coping tools with you to manage tough times whenever and wherever

Coping Plan

  • Each I.A.M Kit comes with our coping plan to help young people and their families learn a wide range of coping skills and also to map out what skills can be helpful for them to use at school and at home.

Word Search

  • Replace negative, anxious thoughts with our mindful word search. Activities that busy the mind can help one avoid self-destructive behaviour until one is able to achieve emotion regulation.

Cold Mask

  • When we’re upset, our bodies often feel hot. To counter this, changing our body temperature will help to cool down—both physically and emotionally. Follow along with our video instructions and workbook to learn this incredible skill.
